What we award Grants for?

  • Wheelchairs
  • Other Grants are awarded at the Trustees discretion.

Who is eligible?

  • Amputee members and former members of the British Regular Military Forces who have normally completed adult basic training and as a direct result of an injury sustained during this period.
    •  Individuals who are medically discharged as a direct result of an amputation sustained during this period will also be supported.
  • Amputee members and former members of the British Army Reserve providing they have completed one year’s satisfactory service which will have included Phase 1 training and as a direct result of an injury sustained during this period.
    • Exceptionally, for a lesser period if the amputation arises from any action or incident whilst on military duty or the soldier had deployed on a designated operation.
  • Members and former members of the Emergency Forces who have normally completed adult basic training and as a direct result of an amputation sustained during this period.
    • Exceptionally, individuals who are medically discharged as a direct result of an amputation sustained during this period will also be supported.

What Happens Next?

Having made contact with the charity, the process below will be followed:

  1. Pilgrim Bandits Charity will assess the application in order to determine whether the above criteria are satisfied before the application is sent to the Trustees for a decision.
  2. Trustees will make decision/recommendation.
  3. Individual will be informed of the decision
  4. If grant is approved it will be paid to supplier of sporting equipment on receipt of invoice. We do NOT make payments or give cash directly to individuals.
