Pilgrim Bandits: It’s time to talk Mental Health

It’s time to talk about mental health. Today – #TimeToTalkDay – is all about bringing the nation together to get talking about our mental health and wellbeing.

We have again teamed up with the ‘Another Mans Shoes’ podcast to bring you a new episode in our mental health series, this time featuring the story and experiences of our CEO, Matt Hellyer. Please have a listen and encourage others to do the same – we hope this is helpful to you.

Matt is a former member of the Parachute Regiment and Sergeant Major of ‘A’ Squadron, 22 Special Air Service (SAS). Matt openly and honestly talks us through his journey, discussing some of the darker times he has been through and how he now chooses to focus on life and physical activity to overcome his troubles, as well as his work with the charity to help others.

Pilgrim Bandits was originally established to support military veterans with physical injuries and over the years the charity has adapted to also help those living with mental health conditions such as depression and PTSD. This includes both those who have served in the Armed Forces and those who have served on our streets and within our communities as Emergency Services personnel.

During these difficult times, we know there will be those that are feeling down or troubled. Please don’t struggle alone. Please get in touch with us. Let’s talk.
